2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast will be presented at the Geneva Auto Show 2017

Maranello (Italy), The year 2017 marks not only the 60th anniversary of the Caterham brand, but also the 40th anniversary of the BMW 7 Series - the manufacturer with the legendary "Cavallino Rampante" has a reason to celebrate. 70 years ago, in 1947, Enzo Ferrari created the cars of the same name. Reason enough to start the year 2017 with a new Ferrari. And with the strongest V12 naturally-aspirated engine that ever came from Maranello. This car called the 2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast.

Design inspiration from the 60s

The successor to the F12 will be presented at the Geneva Auto Show 2017 (March 9-19). Muscular wheel arches and four round rear lights are reminiscent of the famous Ferrari 365 GTB4 from 1969. On the whole, the 812 is strongly oriented to its predecessor, but it is much fresher and more modern. This is complemented by an active aerodynamics, which should make the car more controllable, especially when driving with a sporty drive. For the presentation in Geneva Ferrari has wrapped the 812 in a new color for the 70th birthday: "Rosso Settanta".

790 hp and 530 lb-ft of torque

The Ferrari 812 Superfast 2018 is driven by a 6.5-liter V12 naturally-aspirated engine - with 790 hp the strongest free-breathing engine that has ever been transplanted in a road vehicle in Maranello. The performance is achieved at 8,500rpm, including a fantastic sound concert. Thanks to 530 lb-ft of torque and a Dual-clutch gearbox transmission, it should go in 2.9 seconds to 0-62mph. At 1,525 kilograms, the 812 is not light, but weighs about 100 kilos lighter than its predecessor. Even the race track-oriented F12tdf weighed only five kilograms less. A price for the Ferrari 812 is not yet available, but the F12 Berlinetta started at 268.400 euros and the F12tdf at 379,000 euros.
