2017 Audi Q5 review with pictures
Larger, more spacious, even more, comfortable and a cool look: new Audi Q5 release date in early 2017 at prices starting at $40,900. The design is only slightly sharpened, there is the great tide of innovations under the cover. New technologies for fuel saving, air suspension with damper control and a comprehensive range of infotainment and assistance systems are set to set standards, such as the self-learning navigation system. The new 2017 Audi Q5 will be available with engines up to 286 hp at the beginning. This is not enough: Audi will still be able to make a strong impact on the engines.Design: The tried and tested with new sharpness
Externally, the second generation of new Q5 is based on a tried and tested design, which only slightly sharpened the makers - right down to the front; Which can look forward to the aggressive look of the Audi Q7. The plastic-shaped single-frame grille dominates the aerodynamically flat front with a massive frame. The headlights are available as a LED or in the high-resolution matrix-LED technology with dynamic flashing lights. Here are Audi Q5 imagesThe heavily emphasized wheel arches point to the permanent Quattro all-wheel drive, while the flat roof line pulls back again early to give the SUV a plus in dynamics. At the rear, horizontal lines emphasize the impression of width and presence. The rear lights are optionally available with a dynamic turn signal light. A diffuser insert ultimately integrates the tailpipes of the exhaust system.
Five new equipment lines are available: "Sport", "Design", the "S line Sports Package", "Design Selection" and the "S line Exterior Package". All have an influence on the appearance: the "design" line, which is aimed at more elegance, emphasizes gray-contrasting attachments to the robust character of the SUV. Meanwhile, the Audi Q5 has a full-color finish in the "Sport" equipment line and has sporting components.
For a particularly sporty style, the "S line exterior package" with clearly dynamic sketches front and rear, a radiator grille with slats in chrome, side air grille grilles in matte titanium black with chrome application and a dull gray diffuser insert.
4.66 meters in length, 1.89 meters in width, 1.66 meters in height and 2.82 meters of wheelbase - compared to the previous model, the new Audi Q5 has increased in almost all dimensions. At the same time the empty weight - depending on the engine - decreased by up to 90 kilograms. The 2017 Q5 is also at the top of its class in aerodynamics: the four-cylinder versions achieve a CW value of 0.30 with the aerodynamically optimized roof. The wind noise should be very low and the interior acoustics the best in the class.
Hot quintet: The engines are so powerful
Audi Q5 2017 starts with four TDI diesel engines and a TFSI petrol engine. Audi has not yet announced exact data. Here the first information: The further developed 2.0 TFSI gives 252 hp and is content on an average of 6.8 liters of petrol on 100 kilometers, which corresponds to a CO2 emission of 154 g / km. The likewise greatly revised 3.0 TDI, a V6 engine, brings it to 286 hp and 620 Nm maximum torque. The 2.0 TDI engines with 150 hp, 163 hp, and 190 hp should prove to be highly efficient. The powertrain has been developed from scratch - this also applies to the 6-speed manual gearbox, the 7-speed S-Tronic (dual clutch transmission) and the 8-speed Tiptronic, which is only available for the 3.0-liter diesel (Converter automatic).
The new Quattro all-wheel drive with ultra-technology is on the 2.0 TDI with 163 hp and 190 hp as well as the 2.0 TFSI with 252 hp as standard on board. For the basic diesel with 150 hp, Audi delivers the all-wheel drive on request. The Quattro with ultra technology couples the rear axle drive when it is not needed and turns it on proactively again to save fuel without sacrificing traction and driving dynamics.
For both front and four-wheel drive, a wheel-selective torque control gives the handling the final touch. The software solution ensures a dynamic, precise and controlled driving experience at all times. For the V6 diesel, Audi can supply a sports differential for the rear axle, which distributes the forces between the wheels as required, thus ensuring an additional driving dynamics. Audi RS Q5 and & Co .: These performance versions are still coming
To top it all, the Audi SQ5 TDI is given a further powerful six-cylinder diesel with over 340 hp. At the end of 2017, the Audi RS Q5 will come with a turbo petrol engine with at least 450 bhp. For very economical drivers, Audi will later also offer an ultra-efficient plug-in hybrid that combines a turbo petrol engine with two electric motors and emits less than 90 grams of CO2 per 100 kilometers.
